Prima Box was started by Edward Horne in 1995 as a corrugated converting plant in the Strand, Western Cape. In 1999 he sold the company to Aries Investment Holdings but by 2001, Prima Box underwent a management buy-out by Edward Horne, Ian Keay, Jose de Abreu and Nadia Lederer. Three years later, and under this new ownership, the board machine was installed to manufacture in-house board to cope with the increased demand and the size of the company.
