Depending on which Trail option you chose, the trails penetrate deep into the pristine wilderness, opening up a whole new world for both the adventure traveller and wildlife enthusiast. The shorter rides will trail blaze you through the winelands and might touch into the nature reserves and forestry areas. Some trails lead high into the mountains, where around every corner you can find new views of the spectacular mountain ranges including Simonsberg, Du Toit’s Kloof, Bainskloof, Paarl Rock and Nature Reserve, Franschhoek Valley and Mont Rochelle Mountains all the way around to Table Mountain, Slanghoek, Waaihoek and Ceres. It’s an explosion of mountain ranges in all directions and often in the winter months you will see the highest peeks snow capped. Look forward to crossing small rivers, vineyards, forestry, mountain passes, pristine fynbos, famous to the region. Overnight stays can be arranged on the Vrede en Lust Estate itself or the many neighbouring farms. We like to exceed visitors’ expectations – and we mostly do – having been in operation for 12 years, with user-friendly, high-class machinery suitable for families and small corporate groups. See our comprehensive and informative website for further details on the wide choice of trails. We go out 7 days a week and our trails are accompanied by experienced, knowledgeable guides. We look forward to seeing you!

The old River Runners camp was converted for the day to day running of river rafting and The River Rafters camp was converted into a lodge. As the lodge is built into a hill, it lends itself to spectacular views of the Orange River. This beautiful setting on the magnificent Orange River is 10km’s from the Namibian border (Noordoewer / Vioolsdrift) on the N7 from Cape Town to Windhoek. We are situated 680km’s due north from Cape Town and 1300km’s from Johannesburg. The lodge is limited to 9 en-suite rooms, 5 campsites, ablutions, communal kitchen and lounge, laundry and a big recreational hall. Not to mention the big lawns where kids can play. We use the river to cool down on the hot summer days. Bundi offers you accommodation for an outdoor holiday experience or weekend breakaway with the ambiance of a beautiful river setting. Explore the magic of Southern Namibia’s semi – desert, fauna and flora. Please view our activities page as to what can be done with our camp as base. The Richtersveldt National Park semi desert, through which the river runs, is one of the largest mountain deserts in the world. Over 50% of the plants here are endemic and support fascinating and a wide variety of animal and insect life. The banks are lined with Willow and Ebony trees which provide shade and shelter, forming an oasis green band of life through the orange splendor of this semi-desert. The Fish Eagle shows its majesty as it soars high above the rolling waters the sound of its call heard from a distance, while the Goliath Heron with its 6-7 foot wingspan eases its way from the river’s edge. Not to mention the green brilliance of the Malachite Kingfisher as he dives between the river and trees. Our camp is on the banks of the Orange River. The sites are on grass under the trees. We limit our camp to 5 campsites with all various amounts of people that can camp per area. Please confirm your amount of people you would like to book on making your reservation.
