In order to achieve this, the farmhouse (the Top House, as we like refer to it), has been extended and converted into six en-suite bedrooms, two of which are self-catering units. This building now also houses a new laundry and a scullery. The alterations have been conducted in such a way as to try and preserve the character of the original building and retain as much of the original beams and wooden ceilings as possible. This has lead to rooms which are not uniform in character, although they all have the same superior facilities. Each of the rooms will take its name from the prints displayed in it, which will all be of Southern African theme, e.g. the Settlers room, after The 1820 Settlers. The increased accommodation has lead to the need for a larger dining facilities and to this end an existing out-building has been converted into restaurant which can accommodate at least 20 people. A new kitchen and pantry has been added to this wonderful intimate building set in a warm, welcoming glow. This new facility has been established next to the pool and adjacent to the existing guests lounge. It is intended that in addition to breakfast we can supply guests with dinner on request. It is also intended that this restaurant can be booked for private luncheon parties. The room has been developed to have lots of charm and the original fire place from the farmhouse has been move here. The intention is that all lunches and dinners served here will be of a very high standard and that people will want to use this venue because of this high standard and its exclusivity. All our suites are fully equipped, with tea and coffee making facilities, fridge and microwave, crockery, cutlery and glassware. Each has a desk with complimentary WiFi, a seating area, king size bed and dressing table with hairdryer. They also have flat screen television with DSTV, and radio. There is airconditioning/heating, and a safe for valuables. All rooms have a lovely ensuite double bathroom, with large bath, separate shower and bidet. We provide a selection of top of the range toiletries and robes and slippers are provided for guests' comfort. Suites vary a little in size. A camp cot is available on request. All rooms have separate entrances and are very private. We have two garden rooms. The Foxbury Garden Room and the smaller Sydney Garden Room, which has a private balcony. Guests have access to all facilities at Chislehurst, including the lovely thatched lapa by the pool, which is where the bar is situated, and where there is a dining table for al fresco meals, weather permitting. This is where the ice maker is situated, the wine cooler, radio and television and iPod docking station. Breakfast is normally served in the dining room, from 7am, and includes cereals, fresh fruit salad, fresh juice, a selection of teas and coffee, and a cooked breakfast to order. Guests are requested to inform us of any dietary requirements on booking. We are able to cater for gluten intolerance, halaal meals, and vegetarian options.
