Very poor after sales service. Also don't honour there returns. Bought lanterns tried returning them in original condition but would not take it back. Dr N Govender

Great Prices but after sales service no no

The prices are great but the help after sales is bad. I bought items and within the year it failed under guarantee but no help was received by management. Its better if you bypass northside and go straight to the supplier you get somewhere atleast

I N PATHER WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL THE STAFF AT NORTHSIDE ELECTRICAL FOR A JOB WELL DONE ITS QUITE RARE THAT U FIND A PLACE WITH SO REASONABLE PRICES I CONSTANTLY BUY ALL MY MATERIAL AT NORTHSIDE IM A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN AT METRO ELECTRICITY FOR 18 YEARS NOW AND TAKE IT FROM ME U AINT GOING TO GET ANOTHER SHOP WITH GREAT MERCHANDISE AT THE MOST REASONABLE PRICES AND I FEEL THAT FOR ALL THE PEOPLE WHO HAS ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY SHOULD KEEP IT TO THEMSELVES OR EVEN BETTER GO AND BUY INFERIOR MECHANDISE ELSEWHERE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS YOURS SINCERELY NERVASHEN PATHER

I am also a business owner and have come across these comments and complaints on Northside Electrical and I wouldn't normally comment a public forum like this but felt that Justin/Northside have been unfairly dealt with here. 1 - To Thabani's complaint I also have credit card machines in my business and have had the same problem happen where transactions have been duplicated due to the banks error and there is nothing that we can do and as Adri has said the bank will not discuss client details with a company. So to raj and raath before you jump on the bandwagon on a situation you weren't even involved in please read and understand all the facts in the situation. 2 - Mr Hansraj it sounds like you didnt even give Justin a chance to solve the problem which also by the sounds of it the problem with the product was your fault and not Northside's fault. It also sounds like you never gave Justin a chance to sort the problem out. 3 - To JohnR, have you spoken to management about your problem and given them a chance to try and fix it before hiding behind a computer and writing bad reviews. I do sometimes buy cash from Northside and there have been occasions where I have had a bit of a wait but it is because they are busy and not becasue I am being ignored. When a company is busy I often think they are doing something right and in this case there prices are always excellent and I have never had a problem with quality. 4 - To Sam, If people choose the internet to write bad comments about a company because hiding behind a computer is where they feel the strongest I think that company has every right to defend themselves because in my experience people will not give all the facts and even lie to make there stories look good and for the company to look really bad. In this instance from what I have read Justin has not argued with anyone but given his side of the story which he is fully entitled to do and has asked some of the people to get hold of him bearing mind yourself, raj and raath aren't even customers. Contrary to popular belief a customer isn't always right even they like to always think so and take advantage of companies and when they don't get there way put it on the internet. Judging by your comments on a forum which you weren't involved in or invited to I am happy to say that I don;t think you are one of my clients and I think Justin is lucky that you will not be buying from him as you sound like you would be more trouble than the profit is worth which might be made from your sales. In Closing a lot of the time when people have a problem they will phone management of a company and shout and scream at them which is no way to achieve anything. You have to remember that managers and owners of companies are also people and like yourself if they are shouted and screamed at you will not achieve the desired result and instead of being negative have any of you ever tried offering a solution.

Good Prices. Consultants give good advice. Only negative thing is the slow customer service at the desk for cash customers. Beware if you have an emergency job to complete.

Mr Hansraj

I find it very disappointing and unfair that Mr Hansraj has posted negative comments like this without stating all the facts. Mr Hansraj phoned me to tell me that he had the misfortune of buying a light fitting from us five years ago. His maid had somehow broken the cover of the fitting. He apparently then sent someone here to buy another cover but was told that the cover cannot be bought separately and would have to buy a new fitting. He then also accused us of importing cheap rubbish from China and I did manage to tell Mr Hansraj that we don’t import anything but source all our products locally. A lot of our suppliers do import their products from China and not everything that comes from China is rubbish. I did also try and explain to Mr Hansraj that the fitting had not failed due to bad quality. I did try and ask Mr Hansraj which one of our salesman he dealt with so that I could find out more about the fitting and exactly what the story was. Unfortunately Mr Hansraj was so worked up that every time I spoke he would interrupt me and not let me finish. I did ask Mr Hansraj on more than one occasion to let me finish speaking but unfortunately that didn’t happen. I did eventually hang the phone up on Mr Hansraj as even though he is a customer I don’t believe I deserve to shouted at and spoken to the way Mr Hansraj was attacking me. I never told Mr Hansraj to go and beg on the side of the road/bed, that accusation is false. I also never said that it is not our problem when something goes wrong. If Mr Hansraj had given me a chance I could have tried to find out more about the problem. Contrary to what Mr Hansraj believes we do endeavour to sort all our customers queries and problems out.

This manager refused to even take repsonsibility for the products he sells. When something goes wrong he says its not his problem. He is under no obligation to give any customer support for any product he sells. He asked me to go and beg ant the side of the road/bed. He slammed the phone down on me. Northside ekectrical customer relations stinks because their products do not have proper after sales support in the market place. Buy at your own risk. You are on your own after you part with your cash.

I used their light fittings and found out later that they expect u to buy whole new fittings when the covers break. They summarily ditched their custpmer in favouir of profits. They do not offer back up for their products

I as an electrician have bought products from Northside on a daily bases, and have never had any problems with them. I get good service every time i walk in. so to Thabani, raj, and raath. Before you go off at trying to look all macho, read what justin has said like three times. Thabani has just gone over board for nothing when it wasn't even Northside's fault when he should go to his bank and complain. So i give Northside an Excellant review

this compony does not respect the client ..the management there does not have leadership skills and they cant work with the client they duplicated my account and they never apologised or say anything when i call the the manager tells me that he is too busy.

In response to Thabani's review of Northside Electrical and Lighting Wholesalers on 18/03/2011. Thobani came into Northside to purchase some stock and paid with his credit card. Unfortunately his bank duplicated the transaction. When Thabani became aware of this he contacted our admin lady, who explained that it wasn't us who duplicated the transaction but instead the bank who did and unfortunately was out of our control. We also explained that it had happened before and the bank would normally refund the money within a few days. This was not satisfactory for Thabani who then asked to speak to the manager, when I did speak to him I did apologise and explain the exact same story to Thabani. Unfortunately Thabani was very upset with the incident and didn't believe our explanation. He then threatened to sue us, I replied saying again unfortunately it wasn't our doing and was out of our hands and again apologised for the incident. A few days later we did receive a mail from Thabani that the money was refunded into his account. I do find it very dissapointing that Thabani felt it necessary to write this negative report on our company as I did try my best to assist him and never once told him I was to busy and I do believe we go out of our way to give our customers the best service and best prices. I have worked for a vet clinic for 13 years with credit card facilities. It unfortunately happens often that a client gets charged twice on the c/c- but it is a bank fault- not the company involved. As the bank does not discuss a clients details with the company- it is up to the client to sort it out with their bank. All cases I dealt with- were reversed by their bank within 24 hours. It DOES NOT always mean the card was swiped twice- it is an electronic bank fault. If the card WAS swiped twice- (as some fraudsters might do)- the bank involve will verify this and this company will have this transaction twice on their 'end of day' banking. I am a client that do not keep quite when I am treated badly- but in my opinion- this was dealt with professionally and accurately.
