Review about D M E Auto Body Repairs, Vereeniging
5 years ago
If you don't really care much about your car, then use these guys, but if you do, steer clear of DME Auto Body Repairs. I had the worst experience with them. Not only do they take forever to do a simple repair, my car came back with more damages. They drilled a hole in my car's body to remove a dent and never fixed the hole. I took the car back because of that and because of dented scratches on my doors, as well as my Park Distance Control that no longer worked (They never plugged it back in). The manager/owner proudly said we don't do this - referring to the hole in the body. After calling the guy that did the job, he in fact said it was him he forgot to close the hole. This proves the "manager/owner" doesn't even know what his guys are doing. Regarding the dented scratches on the door, they obviously also denied it was them and we went back to the photos they took before the car was repaired. We then in fact confirmed from their own pictures that the scratch/dent wasn't there. So they apologized, and asked me to return my vehicle at a convenient time for me so that they can fix it. So I did just that a few weeks later. After another week of having my car with them, they called me to collect my car. Upon collection, they didn't fix the dented scratch on the door. I was told to leave the car with them so that they can confirm first with David, the quality assurance manager about what needs to be done. I knew it was agreed with him and the owner that they will fix their damage so I just tried to be patient. David was reminded by my dad and me about what they agreed to do. Then after another day, they called me to collect the car. They still didn't fix the dent, just airbrushed it and said it was there when I brought the car in the first time. Again we went to the pictures, proved again that it wasn't there, but they refused to fix it. I was obviously no longer patient and argued with them to fix their damages. They were cheeky enough to tell me my car isn't in such an immaculate condition as I am claiming and showed me markings on my roof where the windscreen was replaced - telling me they don't know when I had my windscreen replaced, but I clearly left the masking tape on too long and it made a mark. The best part of this is, my windscreen was replaced on their premises during the first month my car was with them. So they actually pointed out another error on their own part. They slightly changed their attitude after that and buffed out the marks on the roof. But they still refused to fix the scratch on my door. It was referred to the owner, and he just said I must take my car and do whatever I want to, sue them or whatever... So I would seriously not recommend DME to ANYONE. It's quite a pity, because the damage they had to fix was actually done very well, but the fact that they didn't own up to their mistakes and their bad attitudes from almost all the staff there, I would think twice before using them. PS, if you do decide to use them, be weary of the fact that they will mark the entire edge of your doors as "damaged" beforehand so that they are not reliable for damage to that part. I saw it on all the vehicles there and even asked them by pointing out to them why is this door entirely marked if there is only one chip on it.... Be careful! I gave them more than enough times to correct their mistakes, so they truly earned this review!
