Glyde Thompson was appointed to conduct a care-and-contact assessment, which played out as an unstructured, meandering fiasco. He came across as smarmy, arrogant, lazy and disinterested. Sessions were directionless, rambling exercises; I fail to see how his approach gathered objective information. He led the process down the garden path for over seven months despite the urgency of the case, doing more harm than good. Under his 'expert' guidance, my relationship with my minor son deteriorated from strained to totally alienated. When contacted, emails were ignored or answered with one-liners. Throughout the process, Mr Thompson was resistant to putting anything concrete into a report. When challenged, he resorted to twisting facts and deflecting issues. The result of a R70,000 assessment process was an eight page 'report' of drivel that provided nothing tangible to work with. Think twice before going to him - his ethics and competence are highly questionable.
