If you are a light sleeper as I am, avoid this hotel by all means. I was here on business and spent first night in the room right above the reception and the all night through I could hear every single noice from the duty area. I did complain in the morning and was reassured that they would move me to the top floor where it is supposed to be less noisy. However, in the afternoon, I have discovered that I was moved to another room away from reception. It was better then first one untill midnight when hotel checked in large group of new guests who were walking up and down the passage slamming the doors and having loud conversations. I phoned the reception and was adviced to be patient as new guests need to settle in and it won't take long. Well, it took more then an hour. I am not fassy about other things (food, tv, etc) which are still very basic but you can find MUCH better hotels for the same value in Durban.
