Review about Cafe Rouge, Gqeberha
Situated on the corner of Stanley and Irvine streets in the heart of P.E’s iconic Richmond Hill suburb, the Café Rouge is a beloved stalwart of the local pub scene.
With a vibrant and friendly atmosphere, guests are immediately set at ease by the warm, wooden tables and red velveteen curtains, reminiscent of an old-time French café.
Along with the traditional pub décor of backlit liquor branding, one can view prints of nostalgia inducing Parisian scenes as well as the stone bust of a solemn Mozart.
Frequented by the Central locals as well as a broad cross-section of Port Elizabethans, guests are welcomed into a heart-warming fold where new friendships bloom and one is made to feel like a regular in no time.
With a menu consisting of traditional pub fare such as; steak and chips, hamburgers, snack baskets and toasted sandwiches, you are sure to find a meal to suit your palate and pocket.
Prices are reasonable, ranging from R30 to R90, as one would expect from an establishment of its kind. The kitchen runs from 12h00 to 19h00 but the friendly staff are sure to help you out with a fresh plate of hot chips should you find yourself looking for a late night snack.
On the whole, a visit to the Café Rouge on any day, whether for a glass of wine and a quiet read, a pub lunch or a downright party, one will not be disappointed.
Entertained by the bohemian crowd, good food and a soundtrack of listener-friendly rock and roll, guests young and old will be thoroughly satisfied with their choice of destination and are sure to return.
