Fundraising events
Laser Tag events can help any school, company or organization raise money through our fundraising events. We are able to assist you in collecting much needed funding for your project or need as we did for Labiance Primary School on Saturday 2 March 2013.
Using Laser Tag as a fundraising idea
Labiance Primary school is in Bellville, Cape Town.
We were contacted by the Labiance Primary and asked if we would be willing to assist them in with a fundraising day. Although the booking with Laser Tag was made late, we were able to provide our fundraising activities to the kids and raise a lot of money!
Fundraising is designed to help the organizer in this case Labiance Primary, collect revenue. We are happy to report that we were extremely successful on the day and Laser Tag was a hit with the kids! We received many compliments on the day from staff at the school, parents and the children too!
The day itself was perfect. Hot and not a cloud to mention! This is how the fundraising day worked…
Field Setup
Laser Tag was set up and played on the school’s sports fields. We included additional inflatable bunkers in addition to what the school was able to prepare. As a precautionary measure, we had to make use of danger tape to protect the children from getting hurt! Kudos to the school for providing us with such a large area!
Tickets (or coupons)
Many fundraising events prefer this over cash. Laser Tag was asked by several parents and children if they could rather pay cash… Our staff were informed before hand that only tickets were to be used and are pleased to report that we collected tickets from roughly 200 players!
Elimination games
Since the idea was to turn over as many players, we opted for a generic elimination styled game for the fundraising. This ensured that we were able to keep wait times in the queues to a minimum. Each player played on average for between 8 – 12 minuted a game. Once their taggers had been eliminated (ran out of lives) the next player was able to join the game immediately. At any given time we had 18 – 20 taggers on the field…
Tournament Games
We hosted 2 separate tournaments that included capture the flag, re-spawning, medics, bombs and centuries. These games were longer and Labiance provided prizes for the winners of each tournament!
Fundraising Results
While we are waiting to hear how we performed on the day (how much we were able to raise as an event) we feel that the day was a huge success. After a successful day, we look forward in doing more fundraising events for the school and will soon have more information on the results of the day!
