All rooms are tastefully decorated with TV and full-facilities (clock radios, fans, heaters, fridge, hairdryer, safes and tea / coffee machine). Your hosts, Dawn and Stan, will gladly assist you with bookings for Golf at local clubs, local adventure tours, surfing rentals, restaurants, cinemas, all just a few minutes from Edenwood, plus onward travel arrangements. We consider this to be our own Garden of Eden and, since opening our doors in 1995, we have welcomed back so many people from all corners of the world, as friends, and would love to share it with you. National Monument¿s Council, there is a limit to what is allowed regarding the en-suite bathrooms therefore this bathroom has a shower and no bath. There is a cozy sitting area in front of the working fireplace. The Yellow Room Suitable for a couple or a single. This lovely room gets full morning sun. It has an antique four poster wrought iron and brass double bed, with French doors overlooking the lavender garden. There is a small microwave. This bathroom has a shower over an old-fashioned cast iron bath. There is also a cozy sitting area in front of the working fireplace. The Family Room - Upstairs Suitable for a single, a couple or a family of up to 4 ¿ it has a four poster wrought iron antique double bed, 2 single beds and a cot .The room has been divided into two, giving privacy to the further room. En-suite shower (no bath). The Studio Unit The apartment itself consists of one bedroom with an extra-length double bed and an en-suite shower (wheelchair friendly). The bedroom opens onto a sunny private garden with braai facility. There is an adjoining kitchenette. All bed linen, bath towels and kitchen towels are provided; serviced during the week. Breakfasts available on request in the main Guest House. High quality mattresses, cotton percale linen. Of course it is a huge risk to be the most affordable accommodation in George. Instead of interesting (No! They do not find weed smoking drunks interesting), adventurous, articulate, intelligent, civilized, well educated, responsible, well read, eccentric, soft spoken, budget travellers that they try to attract they might end up with the 'cheap-accommodation-seekers-squad' (people throwing empty coke tins from their car windows). Since the focus in a travel lodge is on the communal areas (TV room, kitchen and braai) where all the guests can meet, socialise and philosophise about sophisticated topics the 'cheap-squad' will hopefully soon feel out of touch. Outeniqua Travel Lodge is meant for people who are willing to lose the chocolate on the bed and rather spend money on a bottle of quality wine and happy laughter. Although the 3 star grading is an indication that you will probably not catch any nasty diseases, travel lodges have always been more concerned about vibe and atmosphere than 3-ply toilet paper. They are licensed to sell liquor but the guests are not licensed to misbehave once they've indulged. At Outeniqua Travel Lodge they offer daytrips to the Cango Caves, ostrich farms and all other gems of the Klein Karoo. You are free to make up your own itinerary for the day. Dawie, the owner, will drive you around in safety and air-conditioned comfort. They also provide travellers transport to the most romantic little bay and surfing beach in the world, Victoria Bay. Victoria Bay is only a 10 minute drive from Outeniqua Travel Lodge. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the Outeniqua Mountains on a bicycle. Cycle down the historic Montagu Pass (completed in 1844) back to Outeniqua Travel Lodge. It is a 15km trip of which 95% is downhill. On a warm day go for a paddle on the Kaaimans River. An 80m paddle with the canoe brings you to a beautiful waterfall or a 500m paddle takes you to the famous Kaaimans bridge where the river flows into the Indian ocean.
