Not-for-Gain
Identity in Christ, which should not be mistaken for self-seeking, is the true definition of self. We are in the world to serve and not to be served. While obedience is required and not sacrifice - stewarding is not sacrifice. One serves with the ability granted and is obligated to be fruitful in utilizing the talent. Which gets increments if maximized. Hence more is expected from those given more responsibility.
Self-seeking turns into idolatry, which is forbidden. The tiniest second mankind gives in to the passions of this sphere, finds themselves comfortable as its resident and has pride for any accomplishments enabled - they are considered “self-exalting”. Consequently, their humility thins out.
Yet, should one have been willing to train their mind to be conscious of their thoughts; track and trace their train of thoughts thus carefully select their thoughts; and decide whether each is worth entertaining or not. They would be capable of filling their minds with positive; joyful; good; righteous; thoughts - discarding opposing ones.
This would have been routed from the heart. Since what comes out of a person’s mouth and how they behave, is a reflection of their heart - from the heart, straight to to the mind. Then next - depending on whether self-control is exercised - one responds accordingly. Detailed afore, is a mechanism out of which a person may use the application of its engineering to avoid the start that could lead up to idolatry.
One who needs wisdom from the comprehension of the command that hovers over them all - the usher of doing good, would acquire it in grasping the systematic function described above. The command being: “Love your Lord your God with all of your heart, with all of your spirit and with all of your mind. The second is like it - love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
Should one knock; seek; and ask, they would be able to serve exceedingly well, in an orderly fashion - which would be exemplary to onlookers. In this way, the spirit that was unleashed through the works and mission executed would have inspired the spirit within those who are witnesses of the doors being opened, the true knowledge gained and the life redeemed and restored. The establishment; and expansion of the fellowship, would be founded and then get kindled further, respectively - amongst those that are like-minded in belief, love, faith and hope.
The bread of life that is everlasting is of the essence than the bread that spoils. Mankind ought to work for the bread that guarantees eternity, by knowing it to understand it - simultaneously feeding on it to be immersely nourished. This work is work, ‘Not-for-Gain’. Although, the first (being served) will be last; and the last (serving) will be first - where the true and living bread, reigns.
Security of heart in: courage, encouragement, confidence and comfort - is a guarantee, in this realm. Thus the virtue of patience is materialized. An enduring heart as per the Might of will, sees one through - righteousness. Not because of works, but because of faith. All given by the Might. Willingness to be taught and to learn the path that enlightens a believer to understand the Truth; the Way; and the Life - being the requirement.
