Reviews
My mother, Helen Rigby, was a patient at St Francis Care Centre in the terminally ill section from 8th February 2015 until she sadly passed away on 19th February 2015. During her stay at St Francis she received the best care from all of the staff. The compassion, care and consideration shown by all of the nursing staff and volunteer as well as the priest and the doctor was absolutely amazing. Not only were they caring and compassionate towards my dear mom but with her passing they showed us as a family tremendous support and compassion. Thank you to all of the wonderful staff at St Francis for all that you did for my mom. We as a family really appreciated what you did for her in her last 2 weeks during her stay with you. You are all amazing. Your dedication, compassion, empathy and care of all of your patients is amazing. Keep up the wonderful work that you do. We will always be happy to recommend St Francis to anyone whose loved one needs the care that you give. Not being a profit organization you are all to be admired for your sterling efforts. Thabk you - Joy Dressse

Company description
St Francis is a registered non–profit organisation and can provide an 18A Tax Certificate. The Centre is multi–cultural and multi–denominational and we do not turn away anyone in need of our services.
St Francis Care Centre was established in 1992 by Fr. Stan Brennan, a Franciscan Friar, after he witnessed the lonely, sometimes agonizing deaths suffered by many people in South Africa dying of AIDS, abandoned and rejected by their family and friends.
Fr. Stan Brennan was born in County Roscommon, Ireland in 1929, the seventh in a family of ten with three sisters and six brothers. He joined the Franciscans in 1948 and was ordained in Rome in 1956.
After asking to be sent somewhere where he could help the poor and disadvantaged he came to South Africa in 1958, first to the Seminary in Pretoria but after six years he again asked to be allowed to work with the poorest of the poor.
