UNDERSTANDING CHIROPRACTIC

When a vertebra or joint in your body loses its normal position and motion it is referred to as a subluxation.

Joints that are not aligned properly will not move properly and this generate stress on the surrounding tissues, (muscles, ligaments, tendons, discs) and joint surfaces causing these structures to become injured or even damaged.

Subluxations also place pressure on nerves and cause them to malfunction. Your nervous system controls and coordinates ALL the functions of your body. If you interfere with the signals travelling over nerves, parts of your body will not get the proper nerve messages and will not be able to function at 100%.

Pain is only a symptom of the disease process. Subluxations are similar to tooth cavities in that many times a significant amount of damage is present before symptoms such as pain are felt. This is why we recommend that individuals seek periodic spinal evaluations and maintenance therapy to check for the presence of subluxations and other spinal abnormalities.
