Diagnose Tendonitis or Tendon injuries
850 ZAR
Tendonitis is inflammation of a tendon cause by friction or repetitive overload. Tendons are like tension cables that anchor a muscle to bone - if these tendons become swollen and inflamed, parts of the tendon loses its ability to absorb forces, which can later lead to complete tears.
For example - The Achilles tendon is the most famous tendon. It's able to absorb a force through your calf muscle when you land and recoil to push you up in the air. Jumping a few times - not problem, how about jumping up & down 1000 times (like rope jumping) or what about jumping squats with a 50kg vest. This will test the boundaries of what it's able to handle.
Or what about running 5km every few days and suddenly a 21km. That might be a bit much.
A tendon is a semi-elastic connective tissue that connects a muscle to bone. Tendons can tear, become irritated and rip out of it's anchor. Tendons act like a spring, that stores kinetic energy to absorb load when compressed and recoils when released.
