Accommodation is offered in three light, spacious and well appointed double suites, each with en-suite bathroom. Two of the suites are ideal for longer stays as they consist of a double bedroom, en-suite bathroom, lounge area and a kitchenette. The kitchenettes contain a microwave oven, two plate stove, fridge, kettle, toaster and all cutlery and crockery, to ensure convenience for guests wanting to self cater. All the suites have their own private, separate entrance with secure off street parking. The suites have access to a pretty secluded garden area which is dominated by a beautiful 180 year old Oak tree. The shade from the tree and the entertainment from the numerous squirrels scurrying for acorns make it a peaceful setting for early morning breakfast or afternoon tea. All three suites are equipped with satellite TV and have access to Wireless Internet. Two additional guests can be accommodated within the larger self catering suites if required. Newlands Cricket and Rugby Stadiums and the University of Cape Town are within walking distance and the shuttle bus to and from UCT even has a pick up point outside the Lodge. Shops, restaurants, a pharmacy and public transport facilities are all within easy walking distance from Sandown Lodge. For the holiday maker, popular tourist attractions, including Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, Cavendish Square, and the Baxter Theatre are a mere 10 minutes drive away. Cape Town International Airport, the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, Table Mountain and Robben Island are easily accessible and about a 15 minute drive away. The beaches and a number of top wine estates are a 20 to 30 minute drive away. For business persons and academics, Groote Schuur Hospital, the centre of town and the International Convention Centre are a 10 to 15 minute drive away.

From the airport it is a 25 minutes drive to elements lodge. You choose between accommodation in apartments, en-suite rooms or dormitories. As our name might betray, all rooms are painted and decorated according to the four elements. In addition to bedroom and bathroom the apartments also offer a lounge with sleeper couch for a third and fourth person, kitchenette, fridge and tv. The double en-suite rooms and apartments are all equipped with hair dryer, soap dispensers, ipod docking stations and towels. Our dormitories can sleep a maximum of 4 people who share the bathroom. In our tropical garden guests can relax on the sun loungers, the hammock or the day bed, get refreshed in the pool or use the braai area. our other amenities include internet access (also wireless), guest phone, laundry service, library, playstation, dvd collection, minibar and soccer table. Your sport equipment can safely be stored. Our guests can easily meet in the new communal kitchen and lounge.

These bedrooms each sleep 4 people, with a double bed and 2 singles (bunk beds) in each room, making them ideally suited for families. This facility has a large fully equipped kitchen leading into a large TV lounge and dining room. East Wing: The adjoining east wing, with its own entrance, has 2 rooms en-suite, each with 2 single beds, a TV, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc. One room is equipped with a mini kitchen. The Main House and the East Wing can be rented as a single unit to house a large family group that sleeps up to 20 people. Garden Flat: The Southcliff Garden Flat is situated in the garden, surrounded by bird aviaries and the ducks swimming in their pond. The flat that opens up onto the swimming pool has one bedroom en-suite, a TV lounge and an open plan fully equipped kitchen. This flat has a sleeper couch in the lounge and is ideal for 2 adults and 2 small children. There are a number of braai (barbecue) facilities a large swimming pool and most importantly safe parking, on the complex, behind automated gates. All TV programs are available.
