Wrex Trollope and family entered this market in 1995 and opened the first store in Bellville. A second store was soon opened in Tableview, managed by his daughter, Samantha. They quickly became the leading supplier of fireplaces and braais in the Western Cape, due to Wrex's strict policy of service excellence. In 2004 it was decided to enlarge the product range to include popular fireplace stoves from Europe. Wrex and his wife Stevie spent a total of 3 months traveling through Europe, visiting a host of factories, to find the best products for the South African market. They started importing Closed System Fireplaces, Europeans refer to them as Stoves, in 2005. Fireplace City in Stikland was launched in January 2006. It is the only specialist Closed System Stove showroom in the Western Cape and probably South Africa. Offering more than ten makes of Stoves under one roof giving our clients an unparalleled choice in products, along with more than a decade of expertise. Son in law Vaughn and Justine, Wrex and Stevie's second daughter, add value and numbers to this dynamic family business. With Wrex and Vaughn doing sales at the showroom and Stevie, Samantha and Justine running the warehouse, this well oiled operation can guarantee you the greatest of service, products and backup.
