The dustwatch series of monitoring units have been developed as practical, almost failure-proof devices that are not dependant on external power supplies, battery supplies or solar energy supplies and which will operate in the most hostile and unforgiving climtes for many years with a minimium of basic maintance. The units are limited to only one moving part and are totally wind operated, making them an ideal choice for isolated locations as well as both permanent and temporary installtions.

What is an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)? An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a certificate that indicates how much energy is being used to operate a building and is shown on a performance scale of A to G. The EPC is valid for 5 years. Example of an Energy Performance Certificate for a building EPC Regulation in South Africa In 2020, the Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy has, under section 19(1)(b) of the National Energy Act, 1998 (Act No. 34 of 2008), set out regulations that an EPC is required to be publicly displayed at the entrance of all buildings that fall into the criteria for compliance. Buildings in the private sector that are over 2000m² and buildings that are over 1000m² in the public sector are now required to display an EPC at their entrance. Penalties for non-compliance are defined as a R5 million fine, five years’ imprisonment, or both, should an organisation not comply with the legislation by the December 2025 deadline. However, the Power-Star solution provides more than a metering result. It’s a managed solution with a team of people ensuring reliable energy metrics and immediate response, thus eliminating downtime. With our data we enable clients to make operational decisions on reducing energy spend, qualify efficiency of capital projects according to the rand per watt savings and validate potential for renewable energy projects. Our easy-to-install systems can be deployed in any GSM market. All that’s needed for the meter is a GSM network and a computer and internet connection to access the data. Within minutes of installation, your business will enjoy the benefits of energy awareness. The key differentiator of our energy intelligence solution is the high-definition data produced – recording 1 440 data points per day and delivering every 60 seconds in real-time via web to a standard browser. Importantly, our team of consultants engage with clients to help them understand the data, thus empowering them to plot the company’s energy management objectives. More information can be found on our website.
