All activities of worsted fabric production are executed on the one site starting with the intake of raw material in wool top form through to the finished fabric ready for the tailoring trade. South African Merino wools ranging from 17.5 to 23 micron are used to create approximately 1.2 million kgs of yarn which in turn goes towards producing 4.5 million square metres of fabric a year. Continual investment in machinery has seen the recent additions of a Schlumberger combing system, Thies piece dyeing, all new yarn dyeing and state-of-the-art warp preparation equipment, thus giving us greater flexibility and genre of fabric production. International markets for Hextex fabric include the USA, Canada, United Kingdom and Europe where we are represented by agents in New York, Montreal and Munich. Our own sales and design team regularly travel to the marketplace to confer with customers and agents. The home market is serviced by the sales and design force along with our Johannesburg agent.
