Glenferness Review

02 April 2013

Think of a tranquil and serene haven where grandiose horses still gallop freely over lush meadows – not exactly what springs to mind when thinking of Gauteng right? But here, just a stone’s throw away from the hustle and bustle of city life, is the friendly little green hamlet of Glenferness.

Perfectly situated in between major business and entertainment nodes such as Sandton, Bryanston, Fourways, Kyalami and Midrand,  Sunninghill, Woodmead and Randburg.

Some highlights in the area are Helderfontein Estate, Kyalami Equestrian Park, The Lipizzaners, THS, Beaulieu Preparatory and College Schools.  The Area also has many hidden gems such as the Farmyard Party venue to keep the kids entertained all day,  horse-riding schools, and the family run The Rooster’s Nest Bed and Breakfast, around the corner from just about everything.

Kyalami Country Club, ranked as one of the top 50 golf courses in South Africa, is a mere 5km away providing even more incentive for any golfer.

Sitting and enjoying the peace and quiet that is Glenferness, one would hardly believe that the bright lights and revelry of Monte Casino is a simple 8 minute drive away.

All in all, Glenferness is a quaint community that few people would readily give up once sampled.
