This wedding was held at one of the most beautiful wedding venues we have ever been to, Kuthaba Bush Lodge. As Piper Paul and I traveled down to Kuthaba Bush Lodge we came to the realization that the awful weather we had been having in Pretoria, might continue to follow us to Nylstroom.
We drove up to the boma like gates of Kuthaba Bush Lodge and it started to bucket down with rain… Not the perfect weather for an outside wedding. Our Cameras are weather proof but this was taking it to the extreme.
While I was taking photographs of the Liza’s accessories, the sun peeped his radiant head from between the clouds. Thankfully the bad weather was clearing up, or so we thought. Due to the excessive amount of rain the area had been having, combined with the sun, we had a humidity second only to Durban in the Middle of December. The Bride could not go outside for too many Bridal photographs due to fear of her make-up melting off.
The car drive to the Ceremony was fantastic as the air-conditioning was top class, all of us did not want to leave the car once we had arrived. The Ceremony was held at the Chapel which is situated on top of a cliff; it was beautifully decorated. Kuthaba Bush Lodge supplied ice cold bottled water for the guests, the gesture was welcomed with many Smiling faces. Mike almost fell out of his shoes when he saw how gorgeous his Bride was. The ceremony was short and sweet but very spiritual and inspirational to both married and unmarried witnesses of this special event.
After the family photographs were taken, it was time for the Private shoot. It was still excruciatingly humid and the sun still high in the sky. So we decided to start at the Honeymoon Sweet where the happy couple decided to take a 5 minute nap before we took the private wedding photographs. We later moved up toward the planes to view some magnificent examples of game.
The cloudy sky and green veld allowed for very dramatic photographs. Our Driver Shaun made fantastic conversation and even helped make the shoot a load of fun. It turns out that Shaun is in fact friends with my Best Friend, wonder how we never met before this Shoot.
The food was great… just check the album
According to Jason; the owner of the venue, Kuthaba Bush Lodge has a habit of raining and clearing up just for long enough to always allow for a seriously stunning ceremony and reception which makes fantastic material for awesome photographs to be taken.
