We could not do any of this without our safe-haven and support system, which offers support for and from parents as well as support from social services and referral to professional help. This is achieved by our family of dedicated employees, therapists and trained personnel with the aid of the various support groups, social workers and services and multidisciplinary medical teams. We also ofter in-services training for personnel working in similar schools and centres, home based programmes and social integration programmes with non-handicapped toddlers. Lastly, we constantly strive to educate the community regarding the needs of the handicapped, and will continue to do so for as long as we exist.

Established in 1946, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) promotes the rights and wellbeing of every child, in everything we do. Together with our partners, we translate that commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable and excluded children, to the benefit of all children, everywhere. UNICEF has had a presence in South Africa since the end of apartheid and continues to work towards bettering the lives of children in the country. From its office in Pretoria, the UNICEF South Africa Country Office works with a range of partners in government, civil society, academia, and various other sectors to create a safer and healthier environment for every child. Through the support of both individual and corporate donors, UNICEF is able to undertake its work, both globally and in South Africa. There are many ways to donate to help children. The fastest and easiest way is to donate online.
