Why boxing hand wrap is important

01 March 2012

Boxing hand wraps are a must for ANYONE BOXING & wearing gloves, No one should hit pads or train on a bag without wraps and a proper boxing gloves. IE: If one was to play rugby – even for 10 minutes would you wear rugby boots!!! Of course you would. So now look at the b grade rugby player he is dressed the same as an all black!!!

So if you box for fitness / fun you should wear wraps and a proper boxing glove – The boxer already know this , So you at home or the fitness person should do the same – wear wraps and a proper glove if the budget goes that far.

WRAPS –Come in various meter lengths and are sold in pairs . Instructions on how to wrap are on the package or ask your trainer as everyone is different .Advise customers to wash wraps separately, or hang up after training as they dry themselves. If wraps become twisted after washing ironing smoothes them out.

Our wraps are elasticated – this means they are like a crape bandage and wraps around the hand and fingers with ease and without crunching up in the glove during use. Also this material absorbs sweat – Good for hygiene so when you take the glove off all the sweat is in the wraps and not absorbing into the foam and stitching of the glove –Stops gloves stinking / rotting .

Protection – Is the other function of wraps after hygiene – Wrapping covers the knuckles and supports the wrist – This is why it is the new people coming to the sport who need the proper education / wraps and boxing gloves, as their body is not used to the impact from punching and might not yet have the proper technique – . Wraps also help set the hand in the right punching position, this will be enhanced by using a quality boxing glove as well – we want to make a club on the hand, train often, have fun.
