Our 10-day SA Sailing Day Skipper courses prepare you to pass the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) allowing you to hire and/or skipper a sail or power yacht up to 100 tons, 25 miles offshore, during daylight hours, almost anywhere in the world. Claim the freedom of the sea this day skipper licence offers you. The safe training environment of the Knysna Lagoon ensures daily sailing and you gain the confidence to navigate the Knysna Heads and local waters; weather permitting of course. The local VHF Radio (short range certificate) licence is issued by SAMSA; we provide the recommended 2-day training course in Knysna & Midrand. The exam is a multiple choice test followed by a demonstration of your practical skills in operating a short range VHF marine radio. To obtain a SAS Day Skipper certificate (or above) the SAMSA VHF licence is mandatory. Our training session suitably prepares you to write the exam.
