The problem with Rogue fillers
There is no guarantee of the amount of gas in the cylinder. Rogue dealers are known for filling less in cylinders and making up the weight by filling sand, water etc
Rogue dealers do not do maintenance and testing on the cylinders they fill. This is extremely dangerous as previous users could damage the cylinders; the Rogues fill and sell the cylinders without fixing damages and faults.
Your insurance will not pay for any damages/losses incurred from cylinders that were filled illegally.
How to spot an illegally filled cylinder
Cylinder valves are covered with clear seals, red seals, seals saying LPG on it, etc. These are all incorrect.
Rogue dealers fill any cylinders, so you might receive a different cylinder every time you buy from them. I.E – Afrox, Oryx, Easi Gas, Total Gas, etc, etc
Properly filled cylinders must have the name of the company who filled them, on their seals; these seals must match the name on the cylinders. Eg – Oryx cylinders must have an Oryx seal, Afrox cylinders must have an Afrox seal.
All gas dealers must have an approval from the Fire Department. All gas installers must be LPGSA approved.
