Our school was built through the generosity of donors to the JUMA MUSJID TRUST. As a result of this gesture by the Muslim Community the state allows us to subscribe to a religious ethos of our choice at our school, which is ISLAMIC. This is enshrined in our Islamic dress codes for boys and girls; our assemblies are conducted with duas ; we run a fully fledged Madressa system that co –exists with the National Curriculum Statement of the Republic of South Africa ; we celebrate and honour all Islamic occasions ; and most of all we have the opportunity to read our salaah punctually during school hours. Our school offers the following services and facilities . These offerings may be reviewed each year and are subject to change. - Affiliation to A.M.S. (Association of Muslim Schools ) which offers us a range of Secular / Islamic - Sports/ Co – curricular services. - I.E.O.S.A. supervised Madressa system - Modern and fully equipped Technology Centre - Air-conditioned multi purpose Lecture Theatre - Media Centre (work in progress) - Library - Tuckshop - Salaah Facilities - Sports Coaches - Observance of Islamic auspicious occasion - Fully integrated secular and Islamic studies. - External Curricular competition (KASTE , AMESA , CHALLENGA , CONQUESTA ,etc) The present school had its humble beginnings in 1930. It was then a single storey building. On 9th March 1957 it was officially opened as Juma Musjid Trust State Aided Girls School in a 3 storey building.
