About Us Edendale Independent School is nestled against the mountain, close to Cullinan on the Zambezi road. The farm is home to a pre-primary, primary and high school with hostels which accommodate both primary- and high school learners. Also on the campus is a safe house for orphaned children. The first buildings which included a primary school, were erected by a Lutheran missionary in the early 1900s and it grew in time to a full fledged private college. Edendale has been registered with the Independent Schools Association of South Africa (ISASA) since 1994 and became part of the bigger Doxa Deo family in January 2008. It is now an academic institution with high standards, maintained by a team of well qualified teachers. In 2009 we had an excellent pass rate of 93 % which compares well with the Gauteng average of 64%. This is mainly due to the commitment and learners alike right through pre-primary, primary and high school courses. Since every child is important to us, we also established a Learner Support Centre where children who have fallen out of the main academic stream are able to receive personalised attention. After evaluation and support, they either return to regular classes or enrol for skills training which is offered by the People Upliftment Project, (POPUP), which is also housed on the premises.
