Turnberry Lodge is the perfect accommodation option for those who want to enjoy a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. Whether you are a golfer, a trout fishing enthusiast, an adrenaline junkie or merely a couch potato, Clarens is the place to be.
Turnberry Lodge comprises of a large open plan living/dining room with wooden floors and sliding doors which open onto the patio fitted with a built in braai. There is a fully equipped kitchen with under counter oven, hob, microwave and dishwasher. There also indoor braai facilites for the colder months. The lodge has 4 large bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Three of the bathrooms are en suite - 1 with shower only and others with both bath and shower. The bathrooms all have heaters installed. The bedrooms have ample cupboard space, are carpeted and have underfloor heating for the winter months. Each bedroom has sliding doors opening onto the view patio. Two of the bedrooms have queen size beds and the other two have 2 singles in each. Hotel quality linen and towels are supplied as well as basic toiletries. In addition there is a triple automated garage and a laundry with washing machine and tumble drier. The lodge also offers a large plasma screen TV, DVD and full DSTV (no need to bring your card). The lodge is serviced daily (excluding Sundays). Turnberry Lodge is situated on The Clarens Golf and Trout Estate with wonderful views of Clarens Village and Mount Horeb. This north facing luxury golf lodge can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests. Golf Course The par 72 golf course, designed and constructed by Golf Data, is bound to excite every level of golfer. All 18 holes meander along and across the tranquil river and its splendid series of trout dams and cascading waterfalls. Trout Dam The dam on the estate has been stocked with both rainbow and brown trout. There is a resident trout bailiff who can assist with the issuing of day licences and advice.
The village of Clarens offers a plethora of restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and interesting shops for the shop-a-holic. For those who enjoy more physical activities one is spoiled for choice - white water rafting, mountain bike and 4x4 trails, hiking, fly fishing, golf and quad biking. There are also a number of interesting historical Boer War sites in the Clarens vicinity as well as the famous dinosaur footprints. For those who need a bit of pampering there are also several spa facilities within a few kilometres of Clarens. Golden Gate National Park is also a mere 16km drive from the village. During the winter months visitors to Clarens can enjoy a day trip to Afri-ski in Lesotho (2.5 hour drive) Remember to pack your passport!
