Description
The Tourism, Hospitality & Sports Education & Training Authority (THETA) invites THETA member employers and its constituencies to submit applications for discretionary grants 2010. The proposed projects and learning programmes must contribute to the Theta Sector Skills Plan in order to address the scarce and critical skills as identified in the plan 2010/11. Qualifying project proposals are subject to THETA Board approval and on availability of funds.
THETA is responsible for developing a Sector Skills Plan, which is a four-year strategic document. The SSP represents the implementation framework for achieving the objectives and targets set out in the National Skills Development Strategy. The first Sector Skills Plans were for the period 2000 – 2004. Currently THETA has begun a process of developing the SSP document for the Period 2005 – 2009, this SSP document will be aligned to the National Skills Development Objectives and Targets, which is under review.
