My name is Sara Clackett, and since I can remember, I have had a passion for beauty. I have always been able to discover faces hidden beneath that which everyone else sees, and have the innate ability to build on this beauty with my creativity.
I have a huge passion for make-up artistry, and love to use colour to experiment with new, out-of-the-ordinary looks and styles. I think out of the box, and love to “play” with a palette of striking colours.
I have experience in all styles of make-up, but my passion lies with photographic and bridal make-up and hair styling. There is nothing quite like seeing the end result of a photoshoot – the perfect “coming together” of natural beauty and the make-up and make-up artist’s ability to transform – it’s a feeling you just cannot describe and the feeling when you see the smile on a brides face after you have created the look to make her feel like a princess. Amazing!
One of the things I love most about make-up artistry is bringing out the best in others, and making them feel special and beautiful. When done professionally, make-up and hair can completely transform someone, and that is what I love to do!
I studied at the Prestige Academy in Cape Town, where I graduated Cum Laude and received the award for the top student of 2006. At Prestige, I mastered the ability to do all styles of make-up, from natural to glamour, and from stage to special effects.
After graduating, I freelanced for two years, involving myself in theatre productions and doing bridal make-up.
I decided to specialise in fashion and photographic make-up and hair styling in 2008 at The Make-up Agenda. I graduated there at the end of 2008 with top marks.
Since 2008, I have been working on a freelance basis and am currently expanding my portfolio into image consulting.
