The Farmyard, Paarl

Not a good experience at all. Very unfriendly staff, very hostile especially the old man. Not sure if he's the owner, but when we arrived at the entrance he did not even greet and was not joyful at all. For a Christian institution on me would expect a joyful feeling, but terrible and very unfriendly. And the old man is walking around with a gun on his hip, which is very inappropriate for a place that has kids running around. Then the facilities are terrible especially considering you pay about R200 for a small family. Swings are broken or missing. See-saw rusted and broken. Toilets are in serious need of maintenance. Definitely not worth what you paying to get in. I also did not like the way the searched the car to check for alcohol. In the U.S. they had a rule, where they couldn't touch your posessions, so you needed to open your own bag and they asked you to move things around as need be. But at Farmyard they put their dirty hands in between your Belongings, which I didn't like at all 😱. So overall a terrible experience.

The Farmyard,situated in Klapmuts, just outside Paarl was undoubtedly one of my favourite places to go while living in South Africa. It is a controlled environment, no alc. or drugs allowed (very strict policy), the workers are friendly, the host family too. If you just wanna relax, or take the kids out for a day, I would recommend it. With 2 massive swimming pools, and a mini one for kids, an installed (in the ground) trampoline, a super tube slide (massive), horse rides,braaing place, etc. It`s all fun in the sun....Highly recommended
