We experienced a robbery while staying at the Boma In St Lucia KZN. The sliding door was forced open while we were sleeping and iPads and other valuables stolen. After speaking to the police seems like this is a common occurrence. Management not too helpful as we had reported the door being faulty. Be very careful.

bad experience

The venue was clean but needs a lot of restauration. We stayed at cabana no 4 and some lights didn't work. A remote control for one aircondition was missing but we got it upon request (which shouldn't be necessary to request it as our booking was known well before arrival). The bathrooms and cupboards urgently need renewal. The linen were stinking and some furniture was not ok (i.e. from the table for the terrace all four legs were broken off). The pool was not clean when we arrived. The worst experience we had on our last evening. During our dinner at a restaurant someone was in the cabana and €600,- were stolen out of my rucksack. We found out because the rucksacks of my wife and me were exchanged in their position. The sliding door of the terrace was open, which I had definitly locked before leaving. We tried to find out whether it was able to open the locked door from outside. According our experience this is only possible if you have a key. When we confronted P******, the lady at the reception, with this situation she only replied that she is the only person who has the keys and nobody was there except her. I didn't accuse her of being guilty but when we left for dinner at that particular evening we saw her, another guy of the benue and a security lady. To me it looks very strange because it happened on the last evening where no one from abroad who's on a trip does have time to call the police. We were bound for our return flight to Europe and didn't have the chance to spend the time necessary to go into investigation with the local police. To sum it up the location of the venue is good, the cabana was clean, it needs a lot of restauration but who ever is going to stay there be sure to take all your belonging with you at any time. Unfortunately I didn't do it once and then money was stolen.
