We booked at the blades 3 months in advance to celebrate our anniversary. We specifically booked an executive suite, which was stated on our confirmation email and receipt. We arrived and were sent to our room which I then realized that it was not the executive suite. The regular room is very average and I don't believe it worth what we paid. I called reception to tell them that there has been a mistake and they apologized and told us we are supposed to be in the executive suite and that they would see if they could move us. They then told us that they were not able to move us because a bride and groom were coming for early check in and had booked the same room as us! They then offered us a complimentary bottle of wine (which we actually paid for) because the regular room was half the price of the executive suite we had paid for. I told them it was ridiculous and that they need to come up with a better solution. They then called our room and told us that they can give us a complimentary meal (which we were basically paying for too). I then went back to reception and spoke to the manager who had no clue how to resolve the issue and was completely unprofessional. He suggested that we stay in the executive room for one night (all of a sudden this was available?!) and then moved to the regular room the next day early in the morning. We then asked if we do stay in the executive room for one night (the room that we booked), do we still get the bottle of wine and the complimentary meal and he said no. So he offered us something and then took it away. I then asked if we then get our money back for the second night in the regular room and he said no. He then proceeded to tell us that they have had this problem before (you actually have to be stupid). The manager was not willing to resolve the issue and we were so furious that we wanted our money back. He told us that this booking problem was not their fault and we should take it up with bookings.com. I told him that we were then going to kievits kroon and he was happy to give our money back. The fact is that these people completely messed up our arrangements because of the lack of professionalism and decency. They would rather have two empty rooms with no one staying in them then make their customers happy. I was disgusted when I called on the monday to spread to a director about the situation and no one bothered calling me back. I then called again and spoke to someone who then spoke to the directors and told them the problem. Their solution was offering us a complimentary meal. This behavior is absolutely terrible. Im not surprised though, if their directors don't even know how to better situations then how does this place run properly? I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and would never give then the business because of the way they treated us and then believed that offering a meal to us was the best way to compensate for screwing up our anniversary. There were various solutions to making us happy and they had no idea what to do. We left and went to kievits kroon, who was aware of the situation and created us with champagne and snacks (that is what service is!)
