I've been involved in the Customs Clearing and Forwarding Industry for in excess of 45 years. I therefore have a vast knowledge of all aspects of the Import and Export Industry and particularly the Customs Act.
We therefore specialise in:
- All aspects of Customs Affairs.
- Application of the Customs Commodity Tariff Headings to Imported and Exported Commodities.
- The Customs Act.
- Consultantion on the WCO and WTO and International Customs Organizations.
- Consultation on the GATT Valuation and its application.
- Issuing of Legal Customs Tariff Opinions, classifications and Customs Appeals.
- Assisting Importers with current and previous Customs Audits and we further ensure their compliance with all aspects of the Customs Act.
- Assistance in ensuring Customs Compliance in all aspects of Importing or Exporting.
Company description
- Manages the Customs activities for finished goods and raw materials.
2. Will ensure the proper payment of duties and taxes, drawback of duties and taxes where applicable, and Customs broker fees.
3. Oversees the relationship with the 3rd party providers who provide service for Customs clearance and storage of bonded goods.
4. Manages the company's relationship with designated Customs broker(s) by clearly communicating expectations, monitoring performance and providing feedback.
5. Reviews and approve Customs broker invoices to ensure accurate application of fees, duties, and transportation rates.
6. Audit Customs entries to ensure accurate declaration of value, HTS classification and tariff treatment and communicate adjustments to Customs broker.
7. Facilitate the timely release of imported goods with Purchasing, Customs broker and carriers.
8. Review Customs entry documents and retain them according to defined record retention policies and governmental rules & regulations.
9. Support and Promote the usage of Free Trade Agreement programs through document review and communication with buyers, suppliers, Customs Broker and any government agencies.
10. Track and report all overages, shortages and damages based on requirements from local regulations.
11. Maintain information on adjustments to the price actually paid or payable, including tooling assists, royalties and price adjustments and report to the Customs officials (SARS and other Customs bodies) as required.
12. Facilitate resolution of supply chain disruptions related to Customs or other government department requirements.
13. Maintain operation standards for customs procedures, including valuation, classification, entry review and record retention.
14. Coordinate preparation of documentation required for import/export shipments – commercial invoice, packing list and shipper’s export declarations.
