As part of a diagnostic process, for pregnancy diagnosis; obtaining samples of internal organs; to diagnose, prognosticate and better manage cardiac disease; for musculoskeletal disease. We make use of a Toshiba Nemio 35, high-end ultrasound machine with Doppler, Pulse and Continuous Wave and directional B-mode capabilities, as well as ECG and digital video recording. Referral for US only should arrive starved (>12 hours) and will be clipped except in very short-haired breeds. Where aspiration or biopsy may be required, consider having a platelet and PT/PTT count performed ahead of time. Also note that where a complete history is not provided, we will charge a consultation fee of the client to obtain this information. Vets may request additional black-and-white prints of scans for their records or interest, billed to the client at R30 each, or a DVD edited to the relevant portions of scan at R100 (it is time-consuming to edit these to the relevant parts).
