At the first appointment, a thorough case history will be taken and a physical examination will be performed. This will be followed by an orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic examination. All aspects of the examination and treatment will be discussed with the patient and the patient will work hand in hand with the chiropractor to identify the appropriate treatment and management plan for the specific case.

At Somerset Chiropractic we identify that each person is unique and may present differently to the next person. Somerset Chiropractic values individualism and thus provides each patient with a tailored management plan. Should the patients’ needs lie beyond the chiropractor’s scope of practice, the patient will be referred to the appropriate practitioner.

Dr Hughnique Cawood received an excellence award for her Masters in Chiropractic and is based at Somerset Chiropractic on a daily basis. She is known for her gentle and kind nature. She is a passionate chiropractor that enjoys treating patients from all walks of life. Dr Cawood enjoys treating sports injuries and has a special interest in the treatment of both paediatric and geriatric patients.

She addresses each patient with individualized care and works with each patient to identify the best foregoing treatment for each case. She is focused on thorough history taking, examination and achieving an accurate diagnosis. She makes use of various modalities to the benefit of the patient’s needs involving; spinal manipulation, mobilization, blocking, dry needling, strapping and lifestyle advice, to name a few. Dr Cawood will modify her technique to make the treatment appropriate for your age, size, shape and condition.
