In 2006 Alex Albertyn created this small business focussing mainly on mosaic artwork and the distribution of mosaic tiles, tools and accessories. Through his unconventional and unique interpretation of natural shapes, colours and textures, Alex creates and develops unique hand-crafted objé, purpose-made furniture and detailed environments that stylistically may not necessarily be classified as "contemporary design", but rather as mere creative interpretations of the personality traits and lifestyles of each individual client: moulding these interpretations into something truly authentic and bespoke is what he loves most. Alex uses his intuitive ability to grasp the needs of each client. Coupled with all his extra sensory perception, sensitivity and of course a great fiery passion for art, modern-day comforts, luxurious finishes and the beautiful rare textures that Mother Nature provides, he expresses his uninfluenced and creative talent. As the business grew and expanded so did the core service offering, and at present Simply by Design's portfolio includes, but is not limited to: specialist and specialised décor installations, decorative paint applications, paint techniques and various plaster finishes, also cement, epoxy and polyurethane floor coatings, painting and colour consulting services and bespoke design. In our later years our focus has shifted mainly to Décor Installations.
