Standing on the veranda of this centrally-situated cottage, one can see the Cathedral. There are four bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. It has a cosy walled garden draped with red Bougainvillea, white Jasmine and Mandavilla flowers. There is an outdoor barbecue area for having a typical South African braai. A fully equipped kitchen can be used by selfcatering guests. A comfortable TV lounge is available for relaxing in as well as a spacious dining room where the studious can prepare lectures or read. Groups of up to 8 people can easily be accommodated in this spacious house. It is very close to Rhodes University, town and many attractions. This gracious Victorian Manor House built in the 1860's has 6 large bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, a large lounge/dining room, gleaming yellowwood floors and high ceilings. The wrap-around verandah gives it a relaxed colonial feel. The furniture is all original antique oak, yellowwood and teak. The ambience is a relaxed country style. The garden, with its large lawns and mature trees, has many quiet corners in which to relax with a book or magazine, and is ideally suited for a family barbeque. The house also lends itself for accommodating wedding parties, or holding small-group (up to 15 people) conferences. The large kitchen is where the staff prepare the full English breakfasts for our B&B guests.
