Sapphire Flame Retardant stops the ignition of many natural and manmade substrates when it is applied as recommended and is regarded as a flame-resistant treatment. We do offer flame tests to prove the efficacy of our flame-retardant formulas for the different substrates and for the purpose it is going to be used for your specific requirements.
When Sapphire Flame Retardant is applied correctly it will only char when in contact with a flame and will not smoulder and prevent the spread of flame.
We offer flame retardant treatments and certification with our Proudly South African flame retardant, to satisfy the requirements for exhibitions, schools, weddings, hotels, theatres, indoor and outdoor stages, insurance compliance for fire regulations according to SANS 10400 part T for new and existing buildings and SANS 10366: for Health and Safety at events for stage and window curtains, polyester printed banners, polyester and velour draping, carpets, foam mattresses, sofas, tablecloth and napkins, raffia, hay bales, thatch in dry areas, wooden stage and movie sets.
Sapphire Flame Retardant has been successfully tested according to SANS 10177 Part 9 and meets BS 5852 Part 2 and EN 13 501-1: Small-scale burning characteristics of building materials: ignition flame (not just a smoulder/cigarette burn test), flame spread and heat contribution. “Fire testing of materials, components and elements used in buildings.”
Sapphire Flame Retardant is HALOGEN-FREE and does not contain fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, and astatine which release dangerous substances. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), most fire deaths are the result of smoke inhalation rather than burns. Video links below.
