Not for women alone

I took a Rose Taxi from Parkhurst to Norwood. The trip there was fine. However, the taxi back was a nightmare. The driver phoned me for directions to the pick-up point. After a few minutes of spelling my road, and trying to puzzle out where he was as he gave me vague landmarks, I lost patience, and told him that it wasn't my job to direct him to my location. Surely, the least you can expect from a taxi driver is that they can find you? Finally, he arrived at the location. The minute I got in the car, something felt off. Before we had gone too far up the road, I asked if he had change for a R100, because I knew I was going to need change. He laughed, and told me I wouldn't need any change. I told him that the cab I took to the venue cost R129.70, so I would definitely need change. I told him to pull over to the nearest garage. As we pulled over, he told me there was no way he could take me home for that amount. Refused point blank. He became threatening, and made me feel really uncomfortable. I told him I wouldn't be continuing the journey with him, and asked him for his call number, so I could report the negative experience to his controllers. He refused to give it to me, and it was not displayed on the cab. A highly unpleasant experience. And not my first with Rose. Avoid at all costs. I know I will, from now on. I phoned a different company from the garage, and the experience was much more pleasant.
