Prosperity Funeral Administrators (Pty), Bellville

Wilhelmina Khambula a unschooled lady worked for me once a week. The only employment for a mother of 4. Martin's Funerals Roodepoort got her to sign up for a funeral policy. She paid a R120 the past 3 years, this year is was her 4th year. She unfortunetly skipped 3 mths BUT when the family went to pay the blance due for those 3 mths was informed by Martin's Funerals Roodepoort that they need to pay for September also and a payment to the amount of R520 was made and accepted and proof of payment was given to the family on Monday the 19th of September 2011 leaving them with the thought that this is sorted out. Me Mina as I called her was diagnosed with Meningitus a vital killer of a disease and passed away 2days after she was diagnosed with this deadly disease on the 22nd of September 2011. On the 26th of September when the family went to Martin's Funerals in Roodepoort they were told sorry no payment. This after full payment of arears and the new month was excepted by Martin's Funerals Roodepoort with no information given to them that policy has lapsed and leaving them with greave in there hearts and stomach's. 1. Policy lapsed but payment of the arrears and due for September was accepted and proof payment given to her sister who needed to ask someone else to read the policy number to me yet no explenation given and a woman left with to be burried with no dignity. Possibly left not to go home and be burried at home with her family and greadiness leaving poor unschooled people the dark. 2.The area manager D. of Martin's funeral's stating telephonically that yes the lady called A. did make a mistake and they will pay the R520 back. Something called admission of guiled in my opinion and then stating the only person who can proof if they were unschoolled is the person who signed the policy. In other words Wilhelmina Khambula who is diseased. Wow that is respect for the dead. Should people think twice before they think of Prosperity Funeral Administrators? Is this what happens to unshooled poor people who can not fend for themselves in situations like this? If this is the case I surely do think twice and will warn others regardless of there financila status. In my opinion daylight robery of the poor. I am not anonymous and this is not a complaint that should be deleted but perhaps a complaint that should be looked into and if Prosperity is anything like they say on the internet “Prosperity established itself as the PEOPLE’S COMPANY” this should be sorted out quickly in order to assist a family to get their mother buried with dignity the only wish all of us has in life. SHE DESERVES it. A mistake surely it is but proof of payment and acceptance of payment for someone who did not get an explanation is as good as saying in words all is well. Gerda Lourens 0832843404
