Pro Roof Steel Merchants has grown from humble beginnings to become one of the largest and most prominent steel merchants in the Southern African steel industry. Our commitment to growth and our determination to succeed has translated into an ever expanding customer base as well as a constantly increasing array of capital equipment.
Pro Roof Steel Merchants currently employs approximately 500 staff members throughout its four service and steel processing centres situated in Vereeniging, Cape Town, Durban and Nelspruit. A large contingent of the staff employed are technical staff which are required to operate and maintain the various manufacturing and processing equipment within the group.

This impressive array of capital equipment and processing machinery, which is constantly being added to, confirm Pro Roof Steel Merchants’ leading position in the South African Steel Industry.
While hot rolled beams has proven suitable for heavier sections various limitations exists which are not generally recognised. It is difficult, for example, to roll beams with significant differences in thicknesses between web and flanges. Beams with dissimilar metal components for increased sectional strength cannot be rolled.
