Planscape, a consulting town and regional planning firm was established during 2007 in response to the demand for professional planning and property related services.

Martin Langenhoven, the owner, holds an Honours Degree in Geography and a Master’s Degree in Town and Regional Planning from the University of Stellenbosch. The owner has 16 years of practical experience as a town and regional planner in the service of local government and the public sectors, in both of the urban and rural context.

The firm offers the full spectrum of services relating to land-use planning and management and is primarily focused on the West Coast and Boland regions, though not restricted thereto. Services offered includes regional and land-use planning, project planning and management, rezonings, property subdivisions, removal of restrictive title conditions and mapping. The firm is operates on a permanent basis from a fully equipped office located in Moorreesburg.

Planscape is involved with and successfully completed a variety of development projects inclusive of group housing, a commercial complex, resorts, housing complex for farm workers, an industrial development, solar energy facilities and various property subdivisions and rezonings. The firm also formed part of service provider consortiums which completed a Heritage Development Framework for Saron and the Land Reform Area Based Plan for the West Coast region.

The firm partners with various professional service providers, including environmental assessment practitioners, engineers, landscape architects, land surveyors and architects, in order to render a holistic and professional planning and development service to property developers, land owners and government.
