The purpose of this company is to link best practice public sector systems design with best practice private sector IT skills in order to develop, implement and support a new approach to budgeting and performance management in the public sector. This combined knowledge, embodied in a system known as PBS™. Performance Budgeting Systems (Pty) Ltd also works closely with its sister company, AFReC (Pty) Ltd, which focuses on research-based consulting and SAQA accredited training. Our core business is: To promote the PBS™ approach to budgeting, financial management and performance management in the public sector through restructuring existing fiscal processes; To implement the PBS™ approach in departments and to install and support the PBS™ Software for departments using the PBS™ approach; To train department officials in PBS™ so that they are able to operate the system themselves; To provide ongoing maintenance, support and upgrades; and To improve PBS™ so that it continues to be a cutting-edge approach to public sector budgeting and performance management.
