OVC is proud to be the longest established youth travel organization in South Africa, having assisted thousands of young people to explore the globe through work and travel, since the early 80’s.
We specialize in work, study and travel programs to various countries. Most of our applicants benefit greatly from a stint overseas. You will grow in confidence and gain valuable experience by being immersed in a new culture in a different country. Our goal is to offer young South Africans the opportunity of living, working and traveling abroad for the purposes of enriching their lives and ultimately our society.
Our programs can be taken as a structured gap year after Grade 12, or if you choose to study after matric we can assist you after you have completed university or college.

South Africa’s oldest, largest youth and student travel company, specialising in working holidays and study opportunities for young South Africans abroad. Our goal is to offer young South Africans the opportunity of living, working and travelling abroad for the purposes of enriching their lives and ultimately our society.
History
The OVC name is legendary in South Africa, formed in the 1950-60's by the late Max Wilson & Partners, who offered the first cut-rate travel deals with chartered flights and passenger liners to meet the demand for tickets to Britain.
Flights took as long as 3 days. A sea travel ticket sold for 35 pounds, with a free week’s stay at the OVC hostel in London, as well as a show ticket!
The 1960's saw OVC reach a peak. London was on the crest of a wave, with the swinging sixties hosting Rock 'n Roll, the Twist and the Beatles ruling the charts year after year.
While many an Aussie, Kiwi and Canadian settled in the UK, the political situation in South Africa changed any South African’s chance of settling in England. Sadly, the OVC had to close its doors in 1973 when SA was expelled from the Commonwealth - ending a wonderful and exciting era of travel for South Africans.
