This veterinary practice changed hands in April 2022 and it shows! The staff are warm and friendly, there is a happy vibe there now and it was a pleasure to visit them. They have stock of affordable dog food that I had not heard of before and they gave me good advice on tick, flea and worm control. They do work by appointment now so I wasn't kept waiting when I arrived for mine.

Very disappointed with every visit not only by myself but from every member of my family at different times at the Northdene Vet. The ladies at reception don't even greet or smile. They look and sound hostile when you enter. Today my son had the worst experience as it was his first time taking out dog for her annual inoculations. The female vet mumbled a hello very reluctantly after my son greeted her loudly about 3 times. The receptionist asked him to stand outside when he wanted to pay and leave. Then she allowed 4 other people to enter while my son stood outside for approximately 15 - 20 minutes while the receptionist was now very friendly to her clients speaking to them in Afrikaans. The attitude of staff depends on the leaders of the vet. You weren't even friendly to our dog. Change your attitude and deal with people alike regardless of race. The apartheid regime is long gone. We would definitely not visit your vet again.

I had a bad experience bringing my African Grey to get his wings clipped. Please note that these birds have blood feathers which is dangerous to clip. The VET concerned had no knowledge about his as the blood feathers in both wings were clipped too close to his body. My bird nearly died as it was loosing blood and we had to rush it to Riverside who pulled the blood feathers and it was still sick for 4 day before recovering. Please do not do this to other birds as it is too dangerous.
