Netcare Krugersdorp Hospital

I was admitted on the 2 September 2021 to Krugersdorp Private Hospital for a back operation. My first night I spent in high care with a sister from ICU. She was brilliant. I was then transferred to a general ward. Weltevreden. What a shocker. You don't get your medicine on time. You have to ask them numerous times for your meds. The nursing staff were noisy. No respect for patients. Saturday night the sister on duty was fast asleep at the nursing station. There was an elderly lady in the same room also back operation. She went to the toilet. Because of the operation it was difficult to reach the lever to flush the toilet. She asked the young helper, not sure if she was a nurse or just an assistant because no uniform but blue t-shirt, to flush the toilet for her. This girl started shouting at her and went on shouting in the passage telling everyone she must flush the toilet for "Ouma". That to me was disrespectful and uncalled for. Surely they are there to care for patients. There is no care and compassion for patients. They did not once offered to help me wash or even brush my teeth. If the ward was full I could understand that but there were from the Saturday less than 10 patients. You pay an arm and a leg there. You can stay in a 5 star hotel with a personal nurse for that money. These are just a few comments I can give. Whether someone will pay attention to our complaints. I doubt it. They only care about money. There is no more pride in doing your job the it should be done, with pride!

What an horrendous hospital. No one knows what is going on. Results gets mixed up. Nurses are clueless or uninterested. And you pay for this chaos!

It is now the 28.12.14, once again my partner Mr Murray Van Heerden, admitted 23.12.14 not washed, gown full of blood because of a drip he pulled out in a confused state, linen not changed by 15h00 in afternoon, same staff on duty, not shaved despite me leaving an electric razor, because he has had a stroke he is not able to verbalise his needs, so the attitude is, oh well, just another mindless old man, stafff should be trained to handle difficult patients, not good enough!!!!- Ward 6D, Greemhills, Krugerdorp Private hospital -ward not full at all, no commumication from staff unless it is dragged out of a beligerant staff!!

My long term partner Mr Murray Van Heerden patient in Kdp Private Greenhills Ward since 23.12.14 until present 26.12.14 was admitted with epanutin toxicity into the ward, he is extremely week from refusing to eat and has post stroke dementia, the toxicity has made him even more confused, service up until this morning has been good, but this morning I had to create a scene with a particular nurse because when I arrived he was lying in filthy sheets and his meds had not been given to him by 10h30, the excuse was his aggressive behavior when trying to feed and bath him and that I should be present when bathing has to be done!!!! Not good enough!!! The medical aid is paying this hospital the equivalent of a 5 Star hotel and the staff should briefed on how to handle such a patient. It is traumatic enough for me to have to deal with his illness without getting my blood pressure up because of the incompetance of certain members of the staff, there is also a lack of feedback about what is going on with him which creates a great deal of stress, extremely disappointed!!!!
