Choose from our seven luxurious, individually decorated, en suite double bedrooms and a family suite, all located in the thatched main homestead, surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens. Each room is equipped with DSTV, hairdryers, air-conditioning, safety-deposit boxes as well as tea and coffee stations. Three rooms have open fireplaces and under-carpet heating to ward off the Gauteng winter chill. And after a long and tiring day, there is little to beat relaxing in your large sumptuous oval bath. Each room has its own private balcony from where you can watch the enormous variety of birds that are attracted to our gardens - but don¿t forget to watch the ground too; you may be lucky to spot a shy jackal, hedgehog, hare or meerkat. Many of our guests choose to overnight at Monchique instead of travelling long distances after attending a wedding at one of the many wedding venues in the areas. Not surprisingly, Monchique is also a popular ¿first night¿ venue for brides and grooms. Start your day with a full English breakfast served in our private dining room. Light lunches are also available but prior arrangements must be made for dinners. Alternatively, after a cocktail on your private balcony watching one of our spectacular sunsets, head for one of the many excellent restaurants in the vicinity. One of the most popular is the Carnivore, which specialises in charcoal grilled meats such as chicken, beef, ostrich and kudu, and the Casalinga with its Italian cuisine. Monchique is an ideal venue for that much-needed weekend getaway to unwind and recharge your batteries. It¿s also perfect for business meetings, indabas or an executive bosberaad.
