Description
Loskop Irrigation Board came into existence due to the partial privatisation of the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry. Take-over by Loskop Irrigation Board has taken place on 1 April 1992 with 4 Board Members appointed by the Minister of Water Affairs and 4 chosen members from the Scheme. A management committee with a Chairman was chosen. Currently all Board Members are chosen by the irrigators.
The instructions to the Board were to distribute water and to maintain the irrigation canals, excluding the dam, and these have to be done with the revenue received by the Board.
