Krisray was first established in 1983 in Cape Town CBD in 1983 by Chris and Rachel Coetzee. Initially, we began trading in fine jewellery to small jewellery stores and boutiques. As the business expanded we moved our premises to Wynberg Main Road where we stayed for 5 years. The focus of the company changed more to fashion accessories with jewellery and hair accessories being the main products supplied. At this stage we also started supplying the chain stores as well as continuing to supply the smaller boutiques. In 1994 we moved to a factory in Ottery where we began producing belts in PU and Leather. This local manufacture plays an important role in business as we have and will continue to grow this sector of our business while we strive to support the local workforce of Cape Town. Last year in 2009 we built our own factory and warehouse in Philippi. These new premises have enabled us to streamline our systems thus making us more effective in our deliveries, quality control and production thereby keeping our margins down so we can continue to offer competitive prices. We have a strong presence in China where we have built up a pool of excellent factories that we deal with. Having a selection of reliable factories allows us to place different products with specialist factories giving us the ability to offer price as well as quality. Our factories are willing to take on developments and we have had a high success rate thus far in creating products to our customers specifications. We have strict quality standards with our factories and all production is inspected in our warehouse before delivery, so as to ensure quality standards are met and prevent unnecessary delays. In addition to fashion jewellery and hair accessories we also supply scarves - knitted, woven and chenille as well as knitted gloves and caps. Belts, hats wallets and sunglasses as well as cosmetics and lingerie. We are able to supply raw materials such as a variety of PU's, trims and buckles
