Description
Although KNi CAD Professionals as a company has only been around since 2013, its team members and partners have countless years of experience. My name is Kyle Nicholas, I’m 26 Years old. I’m the Managing Director of KNi CAD Professionals (Pty) Ltd. My career as a Mechanical Designer started at the age of 19 in 2008. In my 7 years I’ve worked for companies big and small, including: TWP, AVENG and G4 EPS, to name a few. I founded KNi CAD Professionals as a result of the poor stability of the mining sector. I noticed a decrease in job stability – even in the larger companies such as the ones mentioned above. However, just as the employees were feeling the dip in the economy so too were the companies. This gave rise to the need for cheaper and more efficient project-based draughting solutions, and thus I put together KNi CAD Professionals, an elite team of professional designers.
Company description
We have experience in a variety of areas of the mining and minerals industry. We specialise in conveyors and materials handling. Our team’s combined past experience takes us to various regions in Africa:
• as-built drawings and expansions to a copper electro-winning plant in the DRC, • rutile, zircon and ilmenite wet concentrate plants in Mozambique, • numerous coal crushing and wash plants in South Africa, • manganese, gold and platinum industries
All of the above mentioned projects involved hands-on site experience.
Our teams combined expertise in the various fields of the mining sector make us a force to be reckoned with, but what makes KNi different is our hunger for faster, more efficient methods of design. We will not idle until we are known to be the best in the industry. We utilise the maximum capabilities of the technology at hand to streamline the design process, making it both cheaper and far more efficient.
We cover all your drawing office requirements:
• Platework models ready for material flow simulation, accurately modeled and shop detailed for the fabricator.
• Conveyors designed and spec’d, modeled and simulated, and shop detailed for construction.
• Large screening buildings to small transfer towers.
• Liner plate design and detailing for new or existing equipment.
• Civil to structural to piping to mechanical, KNi understands the importance of incorporating all disciplines in order to maximise cost efficiency.
• We have experience in both brown and green field projects.
• We utilise 3D scanning technology to ensure a final product that fits.
With our motto being “Efficient Design” we revolve our techniques around this idea.
